Per NHL.com the Anaheim Ducks have signed a multi-year affiliation agreement with Tulsa of the ECHL.
The three year affiliation means that the Ducks via the Gulls can assign players to Tulsa as their primary affiliate in the ECHL. Last season saw several Gulls see time with the Oilers including Brent Gates Jr (25 games, 20 points), Deven Sideroff (18 games, 12 points), Steven Ruggiero (57 games, 9 points), Jack Kopacka (5 games, 8 points), Hunter Drew (5 games, 4 points) and Olle Eriksson Ek (27 games, 10-11-4, .902 SV%, 3.01 GAA).
With the start of the upcoming AHL season currently in doubt it’s good to know that the Ducks and Gulls have an option for playing time for some of their more raw prospects. The ECHL is set to begin its new season in October.
Current Oilers GM Taylor Hall (not that Taylor Hall) is a former San Diego Gull, having played with the team for the 1990-1991 season when they were in the IHL.
